Re: Home Printing

Good to know! I'll have to consider adding some element of ink to my next zine project, and maybe make sure it's a duplex printer, lol. Printing single sided only can be a bit of a pain.

A little write up on how to do upkeep on ink printer heads would be really really interesting!

Re: Home Printing

It definitely started out as "what I had" lol, I bought it for very practical purposes and then just really enjoyed the "office copier" look that it imparted. I think it can be cheaper than some ink printers? I think that B&W toner is similar cost to tank-based ink printers, both being cheaper than ...

Re: Home Printing

More on my foray into home printing.

The printer that I use is an HP-M29w laser printer. It comes with very few frills, but has a digital scanner and can handle a nice variety of paper sizes and weights (up to 8.5x14). I originally picked it up when I was working at a field station and needed to ...

Re: Printing Zine Games Straight from Itch.io

Great write up, Zon! I have found that the old-style wooden rulers that have a metal edge embedded on one side and a rounded edge on the other can act as both a paper folder and a cutting guide and are pretty cheap too. Pacific Arc has them, but they can also be found in most office supply stores ...

Re: General Zines and Hobby Chat

Thanks for all the tips! I'll have to put some extra time into display. Your CRT is so fun! I really like the suggestion of having a copy open.

I've mostly got a standard fantasy ttrpg system zine with a mix of original and public domain art into it. It's about the same size as Grum Hall (maybe a ...

Home Printing

Hi hi, making this thread to help gather resources and lessons learned for printing so that people don't have to misprint on a bunch of paper! My experience with printing booklets with Affinity Publisher 2 (2026-03). This guide is more targets towards making your own zine, but you can jump straight ...

Re: Zines and Hobby

There's definitely a size limit for uploading at attaching images, but there's also the image field, in text, that looks for a url? I was hoping it would embed the image in the text body, but it didn't work for a sharing link to a Google photos. I'm going to test with an image from Zonware to see ...

Re: Zines and Hobby

Here's a post about a zine! A friend made a gazetteer for an OSE game and I zine-ified it

I have been figuring out that when my printer does doubled-sided, I need to do short flip and it prints the "cover" as the last page. Does anyone else ...
